Stolen Bras and Panties?

I have a continuous problem.  I am too nice of a person.  I lend out my clothes, shoes, purses, and I never get them back.  I hate losing things!
Losing items makes me feel like I have no control over anything.  I always keep track of my belongings, but once you have let someone borrow something it is out of your control.
However, I have a different viewpoint on borrowing... Well, actually I wouldn't call it borrowing.
My roommate comes wandering into my room when I am not here, and she looks in my bra drawer.  Some people might think that it is disgusting to borrow bras.  However, I work at Victoria Secret and have 87 bras.  Yes, I said 87!  I know when I have bras missing because I am an observant person and I do wear the majority of my bras.
So whenever I do notice, I go searching the drawers of my roommate.  The best part about all of this is that she wears a different size then some of the bras she takes from me.  I always find my missing bras in her room.  This was an ongoing problem so finally I just bought here some.  But she still does it.  I think it has become a sick fetish for her.
I have no problem if she borrows and tells me, but she borrows keeps them and never tells me and pretends like she never knew they were even there.  Now, I can get over the bra thing, but when I found a pair of underwear that I had been missing for two and a half years, I was disgusted.  Who borrows underwear?????  I hope nobody.  That is just wrong.  You borrow a pair of underwear and you can keep it.  Or better yet throw it away.
I found the pair of underwear in a drawer of hers that I had previously looked in for this pair of underwear 2 years prior?  Well come to find out she stole panties from my roommates and I because she would run out of clean panties before she did her laundry.  Who would have thought.  My roommate steals bras and panties....  The best part is I did not tell her I found the panties in her drawer in fact I took them out of her drawer and put them in the trash.  Hmmm... I wonder if she will ever notice that her panties were missing, oh wait I mean my panties.

An Unknown Illness

I become  sick quite often.  I even have a routine for when I am sick.  I wake up, call the doctor or in my case the Student Health Center, and then I call my big brother to bring me my Sprite and medicines.  I am good at being sick.  I stay in my room and keep away from my roommates so I do not get them sick as well.  Now I usually have some sort of idea of what my illness is, but this week was a bit different.

The Student Health Center likes to believe that you have a worst case scenario.  They either think that you have mono, are pregnant, or have some sort of STD.  They told me that I had tonsillitis, and that I could possibly have mono.  They sent me home with medications, and later I come to find out that the medicine did not work and they had to give me a new medicine.  I then went back to the health center two days later, my tonsils had completely swollen, and it was clearly visible on the outside.  I couldn't even move my neck!  I finally get into the center at 3 p.m., after I called at 9 a.m., and they try to tell me it is mono.  Two huge signs that should tell the doctor you don't have mono is:  I am not sleeping, and I have been eating.  Regardless of what I told them, they still tested me for mono.  Two hours later the doctor finally emerges with my test results.  They were negative.  Surprise!  The doctor then proceeds to tell me that she has no idea what I have.  She says, "Oh well, I should have listened to you when you said you were not exhausted."  I am sure you could believe my astonishment.  My own doctor doesn't know what I have, and she is just prescribing me medications to take.  That to me is a little bit scary.  I can diagnose myself better then my own doctor... Why did I not become a doctor?

A doctor's job is to determine the cause of the illness and clear it up as quickly as possible.  That also means you need to listen to your patient.  It is the patient's body, and they usually have a pretty good idea of what is going on in their own body.  Don't underestimate the patient.

Powerball

I bought my first Powerball ticket last week, and I won the Powerball!  Little did I know that if you get the powerball number you get $5.  Only 5 dollars!  I was thinking that I was going to be a rich lady.  Then I got two more numbers, and they were each worth $1.  Only 1 dollar!  That would be just my luck.  Then I found out, if I could have gotten one more number correct I could have won $100.  Now that is a tease.

The way I look at it is I put 4 dollars into it and made 3, so I should keep playing, until that money is gone.  But this could be addicting.  I have a inkling that this could be my newest pet peeve.  The addiction of playing  Powerball.

Impatient Shoulder Drivers

Have you ever noticed the people speeding everywhere during the week?  I always wonder why they are in such a hurry.  I think it is more important to be a few minutes late then speed and not arrive at all.

People can sometimes make stupid driving choices when they are late for something.  I see it all the time.  Usually it is in traffic and someone grows impatient so they think that the best solution is to get on the shoulder of the road and speed past everyone.  The shoulder is not a lane.  Do people realize how dangerous that is?  There are abandoned cars on the shoulder.  There are police officers who just pulled over someone on the shoulder.  There are people with flat tires on the shoulder.  There are hitchhikers, guard rails, and signs.  What if you were driving and all of a sudden here comes a bridge?  Where would you go?  You are on a shoulder no lane to zoom into because there is bumper to bumper traffic.  You either hurt yourself really badly or somehow manage to stop before you get to the bridge.  Why would you jeopardize your life like that?

Just be patient wait in the traffic you will get to your final destination soon enough and arrive alive.  Not only do these people put their lives in danger, they are putting everyone around them in danger as well.

More Dishes?

Living in a college apartment with 3 other roommates may seem hard to do for some, but for me it is great.  I love the interaction and company from my roommates.  It is very seldom that I complain about something in the house, but can I just say the constant struggle with the dishes is horrendous.  I have never seen such a thing.  I feel like I am constantly loading and unloading the dishes.  I loaded and unloaded the dishwasher two times in one day last week.  Come on people... I know that they see the dishes piling up.  Why don't they do something about it?  I know, they are lazy.  How hard is it for someone to eat a bowl of cereal and then rinse it out and place it in the dishwasher right next to the sink?  Apparently very hard.  Then, when I go to the sink and see the gross crusted milk in the bowls, I want to vomit.  This is a huge pet peeve of mine.  It is something I am faced with everyday...  They never end!

The Signs of Spring: Bikers

Columbia, Missouri had a gorgeous sunny day today, and I noticed that tons of bikers were out.  Now, I have a bike and I ride it occasionally, but for those that do it on a regular basis around campus; I just have a few issues.

Number 1:  They come at you from nowhere with no forewarning hoping that by some miracle they will not run into anything or anyone... Oh wait they don't hope that.  The person walking is praying they don't get hit and the drivers are hoping not to hit one of the bikers.

Number 2:  They think they own the sidewalk.  There literally is a road 2 feet away that they could ride on because frankly there isn't enough room on the sidewalk, especially when you have the people walking in groups.

I would just like an explanation as to why I am always being attacked on the sidewalk, the sidewalk that I am supposed to be walking on.  I just don't get it...

Now no worries, I did not forget about the bikers that hog the road.  I know from personal experience that Rock Quarry Road is a great little road to go riding down, but don't you think it is a little dangerous?  Cars come cruising around the turns and then all of a sudden they are slamming on their brakes because there is a bike in front of them or a car in the wrong lane due to a biker.  What is wrong with you bikers?  Are you trying to get yourselves killed?  There are so many trails around Columbia.  Go pick a nice trail, enjoy the scenery, and please stay off the dangerous roads.

Will it ever end?

Missouri is known for its drastic weather changes, but the weather just keeps getting worse and worse. The winters are getting colder, and the summers are much more humid and hot then normal. I have lived in Missouri my entire life, and I cannot recall the last time the temperature was 30 degrees in March and then 80 degrees the next day. Oh wait, that happened this weekend. I tell you it is crazy. It is such a tease to have a gorgeous sunny day and then for it to be cold rainy and snowing the following day. Just when you think the coldness is over... it comes right back at you. When will this silliness end? The fact of the matter is, it will never end. It is a fact of life you must live with. Therefore, I think I should move to a warmer climate so I do not have to worry about cold weather anymore. There is so much that you have to take into consideration when it is cold. You have to think about how you are going to have to layer your clothes so that you do not get too hot. Then there is the whole car issue. If you do not have a car that operates nicely in the snow, then you are stranded till the roads clear up. It is just a mess.

Valentine's Day

What is Valentine's Day?  A national awareness day for people who are single to show them they have no boyfriend or girlfriend?  Or is it a day that couples use as an excuse to give each other presents?  Well whatever the reason, let me explain to you my input on this day.
I work at Victoria Secret.  Valentine's day has become the day I fear most when it comes to my job.  First off, there are the men that come in looking for something for their wife or girlfriend, but have no clue as to what to get her.  That is fine, but when they ask me what I would like that is a different story.  I do not know if this woman is going to look good in red.  Then after the going back and forth a million times, we come to the hardest part of all.  What size is she?  This is the question I dread most.  The answer is always, "Well she is about your size...."  You mean to tell me that every woman in Columbia, Missouri is my size?  I don't understand how hard it is to sneak a peek at the tag on her bra or underwear before they come in.  Is it really that hard?
Next, we have the women that come in that try on every piece of lingerie in the store and never buy a thing.  I am not sure if they never find something they like or if they just try on things for fun because they do not have anyone to show them too.  The worst part about these women is the enormous amount of work I have left in front of me.  They make me run all over the store, they leave a heaping mess in the fitting room, and look at me like it is my job to pick it all up.  It is my job to put the clothing back after people try them on, but it is not my job to have to go pick up piles on the floor, clean the trash up they leave in the room, and then put them back out.  The next time you are shopping anywhere, PLEASE, PLEASE, have some courtesy to not throw the clothing on the ground just kindly hand it to the lady standing on the other side of the door.  Also, the trash is disgusting.  I am not your mother, maid, nanny, or babysitter.  It is a very simple thing to do, and it makes our lives so much easier.
This is why I despise Valentine's Day.  I love my job, but there are always those moments of frustration.

Complaining

Hello Friends!  I am going to be a little contradictory for today.  Complaining is the foundation of  dissatisfaction.  Without complaining you would never know about people's dissatisfactions with life.  I have created this blog to have a place to put all of my sometimes ridiculous and sometimes not so ridiculous pet peeves.
While complaining is a pet peeve of mine, this blog could potentially just be a complaining board for all to view.  The number one reason why I can't stand complaining is because usually the person is not doing anything about the problem other then non-stop talking about it.  Do something about it.  It is really a very simple concept that most people never get, but you must keep in mind that there is not always a solution to every complaint or pet peeve.  You must find a way of coping with these life dissatisfactions.  I will explore some of these issues and attempt to propose an alternate solution for you all.
