Valentine's Day

What is Valentine's Day?  A national awareness day for people who are single to show them they have no boyfriend or girlfriend?  Or is it a day that couples use as an excuse to give each other presents?  Well whatever the reason, let me explain to you my input on this day.
I work at Victoria Secret.  Valentine's day has become the day I fear most when it comes to my job.  First off, there are the men that come in looking for something for their wife or girlfriend, but have no clue as to what to get her.  That is fine, but when they ask me what I would like that is a different story.  I do not know if this woman is going to look good in red.  Then after the going back and forth a million times, we come to the hardest part of all.  What size is she?  This is the question I dread most.  The answer is always, "Well she is about your size...."  You mean to tell me that every woman in Columbia, Missouri is my size?  I don't understand how hard it is to sneak a peek at the tag on her bra or underwear before they come in.  Is it really that hard?
Next, we have the women that come in that try on every piece of lingerie in the store and never buy a thing.  I am not sure if they never find something they like or if they just try on things for fun because they do not have anyone to show them too.  The worst part about these women is the enormous amount of work I have left in front of me.  They make me run all over the store, they leave a heaping mess in the fitting room, and look at me like it is my job to pick it all up.  It is my job to put the clothing back after people try them on, but it is not my job to have to go pick up piles on the floor, clean the trash up they leave in the room, and then put them back out.  The next time you are shopping anywhere, PLEASE, PLEASE, have some courtesy to not throw the clothing on the ground just kindly hand it to the lady standing on the other side of the door.  Also, the trash is disgusting.  I am not your mother, maid, nanny, or babysitter.  It is a very simple thing to do, and it makes our lives so much easier.
This is why I despise Valentine's Day.  I love my job, but there are always those moments of frustration.
